You Understand Your Patterns - So Why Is Change Still Hard?

I started writing a book 3 weeks ago. I’m already at 28,000 words.
And somehow, this book is equally healing me as it is revealing me.
It's reminded me how deeply I love supporting women to reconnect with their bodies.
So many of us are walking around, profoundly disconnected from these incredible bodies of ours - and it’s a travesty that is slowly shaping so much of how we live and experience life.
Our relationships. Anxiety. Burnout. Overwhelm... our need to control, avoid, overthink or emotionally shut down…
A lot of the suffering we experience isn’t just from life itself… but from our fear of feeling the emotions the external world activates in us.
Pain. Grief. Shame. Anger. Rejection. Helplessness.
And those emotions - those feelings - live in the body, not just the mind.
But so many of us have become trapped in our minds, trying to analyse, predict or think our way into safety, that we forget to actually sit with the body instead.
To listen.
To process.
To feel what has just been waiting to be felt by you.
Because what we avoid doesn’t simply disappear. It lingers, compounds and becomes stored in the body.
And over time, that disconnect can leave us feeling emotionally exhausted, reactive, numb, anxious, restless or just deeply disconnected from ourselves.
I remember now how important it is to speak your truth…
But it is just as important to descend into the body sometimes and relearn how to truly feel again.
To reconnect with something deeper than surface-level problems and intellectual understanding.
The body speaks.
It is time to listen.
And perhaps healing isn’t always found in more analysing, fixing or overthinking…
Perhaps, sometimes, it begins with finally feeling safe enough to listen to what the body has been trying to say all along.
If you’re wanting support to explore this work more deeply, I offer somatic-based 1:1 sessions and free 20-minute connection calls.
